Thank you to the Rotary Club of Sandwich

We were delighted to welcome members of the Rotary Club of Sandwich to the Parkinson’s Centre for Integrated Therapy this morning for a visit and cheque presentation in support of our groundbreaking research into non-invasive brain stimulation.

Members of the Club enjoyed a guided tour of the Centre, offering a first-hand look at the range of integrated services we provide to support people living with Parkinson’s. Their visit began in our Neurogym where they heard how tailored physical activity can help manage symptoms and improve quality of life.

They also explored our sleep clinic, which provides vital support for members experiencing sleep disturbances, a common challenge with Parkinson’s.  They also visited our on-site beauty salon, designed to help members restore confidence, promote wellbeing and enjoy much-needed self-care in a safe and welcoming environment.

A highlight of the visit was a neurostimulation demonstration, showcasing the potential of this non-invasive technology to improve motor function and reduce symptoms. The Rotary Club members had the opportunity to speak with Centre staff and members, gaining deeper insight into how emerging therapies are being explored and trialled as part of our research programme.

The visit concluded with a cheque presentation, where the Rotary Club of Sandwich generously donated £5,000 to support the purchase of a neurostimulation device and advance our ongoing research into non-invasive brain stimulation for people living with Parkinson’s and other neurological conditions. This generous gift represents a significant step forward in accelerating our work and expanding access to innovative therapies.

We are incredibly grateful to the Rotary Club of Sandwich for their generosity and look forward to sharing updates as the neurostimulation programme develops.
