On Sunday 20th July, despite the rain, spirits were high as PCIT members, staff and their families (including two enthusiastic canine companions) took part in a sponsored walk organised by the Parkinson’s Centre for Integrated Therapy.
The event featured two walking routes: a gentle 5km stroll and a more challenging 12-mile trek for those feeling brave. Raincoats and good humour were the order of the day as we made our way along the Crab and Winkle Way, taking in the beautiful scenery between Canterbury and Whitstable. More than just a walk, it was a chance to connect — to talk, laugh and share stories along the way.
Our goal? To raise funds to equip our much-needed neurogym. We’re thrilled to share that we’ve already raised just over £2,000. But we’re not stopping there. If we reach £7,500, Sport England will generously match it – bringing us to a total of £15,000. This funding would allow us to complete the neurogym with essential equipment, including a wheelchair stepper and a treadmill with hoist, helping more of our members access effective, supported exercise.
Every donation, no matter how small, brings us one step closer. If you’d like to support us, you can donate online.
A huge thank you to everyone who joined us to help build a stronger, healthier future for our community.
