Thank you to the Kent Order of the Secret Monitor

The Parkinson’s Centre for Integrated Therapy (PCIT) recently had the pleasure of welcoming Scott Dunn, Deputy Provincial Grand Supreme Ruler in Charge of the Kent Order of the Secret Monitor, and Pip who have made a significant contribution the Centre. Their generosity enabled us to purchase essential equipment including three wheelchairs, a transfer aid and an emergency lifting cushion which have greatly enhanced the lives of our members with Parkinson’s disease.

During the visit, Professor David Wilkinson (Director of PCIT), Sarah Frow (PCIT Fitness Instructor) and Mark Colley (PCIT Clinical Lead) demonstrated the donated equipment, showcasing how it has been invaluable in assisting our members with their mobility and safety. The wheelchairs have provided essential support for those who require assistance with transportation, whilst the transfer aid has made it easier for individuals to transition from a seated to a standing position. The emergency lifting cushion has allowed our team to safely and efficiently assist members who have experienced falls.

Scott and Pip were given a tour of the Centre, where they learned about the various therapeutic programs and services we offer.

We are truly grateful to the Kent Order of the Secret Monitor for their continued support. Their generosity has enabled us to provide vital resources and services to individuals living with Parkinson’s disease, enabling them to maintain a better quality of life.
