The ‘Keswick’ Bronze donated in memory of Anthony Heywood

We are most grateful to Lily Heywood, wife of the late Anthony Heywood, for donating Anthony’s sculpture, the ‘Keswick’ Bronze, to the University of Kent. This stunning piece now proudly stands in The Registry, where it can be enjoyed by all.

Anthony Heywood, an alumnus of the University and a well known name in the art world, graduated in 1978 and was a member of the football team and a regular attendee at reunions. His passion for both art and sport left a lasting impression on all who knew him. As a keen footballer, Anthony was loved by his teammates for his dedication, sportsmanship and infectious enthusiasm.

The ‘Keswick’ Bronze beautifully encapsulates Anthony’s artistic vision, capturing the essence of natural beauty and human emotion. It serves as a beacon of creativity and inspiration for our staff, students, and visitors.

We invite everybody to visit the sculpture to experience the ‘Keswick’ Bronze firsthand. Let it inspire you, just as Anthony Heywood’s life and work have inspired countless others.

Once again, we express our deepest thanks to Lily Heywood for this magnificent gift. This generosity enriches our University and ensures that Anthony Heywood’s legacy will continue to inspire generations to come.
