I am very sad to share that John Colin Gerrard (Colin) died on 19th April 2024.
Colin worked in the library from 1977-2008. I worked with him for 11 years in the era of print journals. Colin went on to use his extensive knowledge and expertise of journals to negotiate with publishers and ensure that the library could provide the best coverage of e journal services (and later e books). You may not recognise his face, but will have benefitted so much from his expertise in providing these services.
I am so very glad that I was able to work with Colin and the knowledge I gained from him was invaluable in my future library work.
Colin will be missed by his wife Sally and daughters Lindsay and Kathryn.
