A big thank you to Grovewell Garden Centres

The team at the Parkinson’s Centre for Integrated Therapy would like express their sincere gratitude to Grovewell Garden Centres for their generous donation of four grow bags to support our new Horticultural Therapy Programme.

This donation will be immensely beneficial to our members, allowing them to participate in the rewarding and therapeutic activity of growing tomatoes. Not only will they have the joy of nurturing and watching their plants grow, but they will also be able to take home homegrown tomatoes to enjoy – a delicious and healthy reward for their efforts.

Horticultural Therapy has proven to be highly beneficial for people with Parkinson’s disease in a multitude of ways. The act of gardening provides a gentle form of exercise, promoting improved motor skills and coordination. It can also be a wonderful source of stress relief and relaxation, while fostering a sense of accomplishment and pride.

We are incredibly grateful to Grovewell Garden Centres for their understanding and support of our mission. Their kind donation will directly contribute to the well-being of our members, allowing them to experience the therapeutic and enriching benefits of Horticultural Therapy.

Mark Colley, Clinical Lead at the Centre said: “On behalf of everyone at the Parkinson’s Centre, I would like to thank Grovewell Garden Centres for their kind donation which will make a real difference to the lives of our members and their carers. We know how much enjoyment gardening can bring, and thanks to them, many more people will be able to experience the therapeutic benefits of nurturing a green space.”
