Building a brighter future for people with Parkinson’s: A visit from the Walker Construction Trust

We were delighted to welcome Steve Walker, Chairman of Walker Construction, to the Parkinson’s Centre for Integrated Therapy this morning. The Walker Construction Trust generously donated £5,000 towards our exercise classes, a vital programme that has a significant impact on the lives of our members and we are most grateful to them for their support.

Steve was given a tour of the facilities and introduced to key staff members to learn more about the extensive range of services offered at the Parkinson’s Centre.  In addition, he attended one of our exercise classes, witnessing first-hand the dedication and determination of our members as they worked to manage their Parkinson’s symptoms.

He said: “The Walker Construction Trust is delighted to support such a worthy cause. The team’s dedication to improving the lives of those living with Parkinson’s is truly inspiring and having the opportunity to watch an exercise class was most rewarding. Seeing the positive impact our donation is making is something we’ll all take great pride in.”

Professor David Wilkinson, Director of the Parkinson’s Centre for Integrated Therapy, added: “We were thrilled to welcome Steve to the Centre. His visit and the generous donation from the Walker Construction Trust are deeply appreciated. I was delighted to have the opportunity to share more about the work we do here at the Centre and particularly how their contribution directly impacts our members through vital exercise programmes. The positive influence this has is remarkable. We look forward to building a strong relationship with Walker Construction and working together to further support people with Parkinson’s in the future.”

This visit represents the beginning of what we hope will be a long partnership between the Parkinson’s Centre for Integrated Therapy and Walker Construction. The generous donation from their Trust has allowed us to continue offering vital exercise classes, a cornerstone of managing Parkinson’s symptoms. These classes improve our members’ balance, flexibility and overall well-being, allowing them to live life to the fullest.

We are incredibly grateful for the support of the staff at Walker Construction and look forward to continuing our relationship with them. Together, we can build a brighter future for people living with Parkinson’s disease.
