The Langton Grammar School for Boys raises £150 for the Parkinson’s Centre

On Friday 23rd June, student musicians from The Langton Grammar School for Boys performed in the summer Langton Live gig, which featured pieces from a range of genres including pop, jazz, reggae and musical theatre. The concert, performed by pupils from Years 7-13, also featured music written and arranged by some of their student composers.

Year 12 music A Level student Pascal Sleigh organised the event and we are delighted that the performers chose to donate the £150 raised during the evening to the continued work of the Parkinson’s Centre for Integrated Therapy.  Our sincere thanks go to you all.

On Wednesday 28th June, the Skylark’s Sing to Beat Parkinson’s group (which the Langton lead) will be performing at the Langton as part of their own research symposium – spreading the news surrounding the benefits of singing and music-making on relieving the symptoms of Parkinson’s.

Thank you once again to everybody who was involved in this event, we really do appreciate your support.
