Research Volunteers Wanted

We are looking for volunteers to take part in research interviews to help us develop our therapy provision at the Centre.

Neurological conditions are often accompanied with changes in mental health including anxiety, depression, isolation, and stress. Mental health issues are distressing and can worsen the impact of neurological conditions, contributing to poorer quality of life.

Talking therapies or counselling can aid mental wellbeing by helping people to make sense of their thoughts, feelings and behaviours and recognise any unhelpful patterns. They can also offer strategies to help people cope with their condition and live well.

The Parkinson’s Centre for Integrated Therapy and Faversham Counselling Service are introducing a new mental health support programme for people with neurological conditions and their families.

Researchers from the University of Kent want to find out what people with neurological conditions and their family members think about accessing support for mental health and will gather feedback on how the new service could work and what it should involve. This project will allow us to develop and refine our mental health service so that it is based on the needs of those accessing it.

We are looking for volunteers to take part in an interview where we will discuss your experiences and views on a new service to support mental wellbeing at the Parkinson’s Centre for Integrated Therapy. The interview will last up to one hour and can be completed in-person or remotely.
