The King’s School, Canterbury raises further funds for the Centre

Support staff at the King’s School, Canterbury chose the Parkinson’s Centre for Integrated Therapy to be their 2022 Charity of the Year and their fundraising events have now come to a close.  They certainly went out with a bang with colleagues raising a further £1,000 towards their fundraising total through a variety of events including a spin class, Santa Run and 5km run.  We are most grateful to them for their efforts.

On Friday 18th November, staff at the King’s Recreation Centre organised a sponsored spin class where everyone who took part donated a minimum of £5 each.  Between them they cycled a staggering 1689.45km!  You can view their challenge event online.

Neil Dixon, Head of Gardens and Grounds, took part in the Whitstable and Herne Bay Mo Run on Saturday 26th November, his first 5km since leaving school, and loved every minute.  He completed the course in an impressive 36 minutes and we are so proud of him for this achievement.  Well done Neil!

Finally, Ann West took part in “Santa on the Bay”, a 5km fun run in Herne Bay on Sunday 27th November whilst dressed as Father Christmas.  We are always so touched by the lengths people will go to to support the new Parkinson’s Centre and we are most grateful to her for her support.  Thank you Ann!

We were delighted when the King’s School, Canterbury told us they would be supporting us this year.  We have thoroughly enjoyed working with them and would like to thank everybody who took part in their events for believing in our vision.  We look forward to announcing the final amount raised this year in the near future.

To everybody at the The King’s School, Canterbury, thank you.
