Launch of the Parkinson’s Cafe

The sun was shining for our visit to Eternal Lakes Nature Reserve where a new Parkinson’s Café was being launched. The café will offer a place for people with Parkinson’s and their family members to connect with others and build a supportive community. The Mayor of Medway Cllr. Jan Aldous officiated the event and we were treated to some music from the Medway Skylarks.

We spoke to people with Parkinson’s and their family members as well as neurological charities and community support groups based in Kent. We learnt about the local support currently available to people with Parkinson’s and how the Centre could foster new collaborations with these organisations. We were also able to spread the word about our funding campaign.
