On 13 June, 2015 almost exactly 800 years after the signing of Magna Carta, law alumni, local judges, leading QCs, barristers, law firms, staff, students and friends of the University took part in the first Canterbury Legal Walk, a 10km sponsored walk around some of the City’s landmarks and the University of Kent’s beautiful Canterbury campus raising funds for the Kent Law Campaign to build a new home for the Kent Law Clinic.
Thank you to everyone who walked, volunteered and supported the Canterbury Legal Walk. We hope you enjoyed yourselves as much as we did and we hope to see you again soon. Sponsorship monies are still being received but we estimate that the walk will have raised over £8K.
The Walk is one of a series of fundraising walks held throughout England and Wales and takes place annually after the London Legal Walk which celebrated its 11th Anniversary. The Canterbury Walk was organised by the University and our special thanks go to The London Legal Support Trust, The Law Society and The Access to Justice Foundation for helping us make this event possible.
