C<\/span><\/span>onnecting theory with pra<\/span><\/span>ctice<\/span><\/span>\u00a0to achieve \u2018<\/span>Thexis<\/span>\u2019<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/h4>\n

The CSR Module aims to connect the module\u2019s theory with practice, a concept known as\u00a0thexis.\u00a0<\/i>Thexis\u00a0aims to bridge the divide between theory and practice, by retaining\u00a0practical relevance for academia and achieving theoretically informed practice in order to develop improved processes and outcomes. A unifying word that was firstly proposed in the\u00a0Annual Review of Social Partnerships (ARSP)<\/a>\u00a010th\u00a0issue,\u00a0thexis\u00a0is concerned with \u201cdescribing the outcome that is achieved when combining the knowledge and skills associated with the realms of ‘theory’ and ‘praxis’\u201d (Seitanidi, 2010: 14).\u00a0Thexis\u00a0is derived from the combination of the two words\u00a0the<\/b>ory and praxis<\/b>.\u00a0Thexis\u00a0refers to the ability to move to an evolved understanding in any field, by merging theoretical and practical insights, theories and experiences.\u201d (ibid).<\/p>\n

Moreover, the critical role of\u00a0reflection<\/i>\u00a0within the\u00a0CSR\u00a0module at different levels (individual, in-groups, large\u00a0collective and public domain) provides opportunities for developing reflection skills that later will allow\u00a0participants\u00a0to become reflective practitioners. In effect, the\u00a0CSR\u00a0module aims to teach students how to link\u00a0CSR\u00a0theory with\u00a0CSR\u00a0practice and how to\u00a0combine\u00a0theoretical and practical insights into a combined student experience that they are able to reflect upon and bring forward\u00a0into their future workplaces in a meaningful way through reflection.<\/p>\n
