Articles tend to be more specific in scope and often take less time to publish than books so you can identify current ideas and case studies. <\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;134233117&quot;:false,&quot;134233118&quot;:false,&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335551550&quot;:1,&quot;335551620&quot;:1,&quot;335559685&quot;:0,&quot;335559737&quot;:0,&quot;335559738&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">In addition to the main Library Search, there are two main ways to access this type of information; using\u00a0 specialist bioscience databases as well as more general academic databases that cover multidisciplines.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3>General :<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/library\/your-digital-library\/digital-resources-directory\/279\/scopus\">Scopus\u00a0<\/a>\u2013 multi-disciplinary database providing full text and abstracts (article summaries) for peer-reviewed literature.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/library\/your-digital-library\/digital-resources-directory\/505\/scopus-ai\">Scopus AI\u00a0\u00a0<\/a><strong>&#8211; <\/strong>is a new feature included in Scopus, providing a new way and more intuitive of searching the Scopus database. Further help, including use of different features, is available on the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/elsevier.libguides.com\/Scopus\/ScopusAI\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><u>Scopus LibGuide: Scopus AI<\/u><\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/library\/your-digital-library\/digital-resources-directory\/132\/google-scholar\">Google Scholar<\/a> \u2013 is a popular search engine to look for academic material including journal articles and books. It is a convenient way to search across the web from one place:\n<div class=\"kent-video-wrapper\"><span class='embed-youtube' style='text-align:center; display: block;'><iframe class='youtube-player' type='text\/html' width='1140' height='672' src='https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/uWFv8HTCVp8?version=3&#038;rel=1&#038;fs=1&#038;showsearch=0&#038;showinfo=1&#038;iv_load_policy=1&#038;wmode=transparent' frameborder='0' allowfullscreen='true'><\/iframe><\/span><\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Subject specific databases:<\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/library\/your-digital-library\/digital-resources-directory\/40\/biomedical-life-sciences-collection\">Biomedical &amp; Life Sciences Collection<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0(Henry Stewart Talks) \u2013 seminar style audio-visual talks presented by world leading scientists to keep researchers up to date.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/library\/your-digital-library\/digital-resources-directory\/41\/bioone\">BioOne<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>a database of biological, ecological and environmental journals.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/library\/your-digital-library\/digital-resources-directory\/254\/pubmed\"><strong>PubMed<\/strong> &#8211; <\/a>index of biomedical and life sciences literature including the Medline database.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/library\/your-digital-library\/digital-resources-directory\/203\/nature-journals\"><strong>Nature Journals<\/strong><\/a> &#8211; Nature is one of the most well known and highly regarded science and technology publications. Full text content is available from 1849 to current. This platform allows cross searching of this key journal alongside other research journals from Nature publishing that we subscribe to.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/library\/your-digital-library\/digital-resources-directory\/291\/springer-nature-link\">Springer Nature Link <\/a><\/strong>Springerlink is a platform for expert science and social sciences content through\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/link-springer-com.chain.kent.ac.uk\/search?facet-content-type=%22Book%22&amp;showAll=false\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">e-book<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/link-springer-com.chain.kent.ac.uk\/search?facet-content-type=%22Journal%22&amp;showAll=false\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">journal collections<\/a> as well as <a href=\"https:\/\/link-springer-com.chain.kent.ac.uk\/search?facet-content-type=%22ConferenceProceedings%22&amp;showAll=false\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">conference proceedings<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/link-springer-com.chain.kent.ac.uk\/search?facet-content-type=%22ReferenceWork%22&amp;showAll=false\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reference works<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/library\/your-digital-library\/digital-resources-directory\/322\/web-of-science\">Web of Science<\/a><\/strong> &#8211; Web of Science has a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/clarivate.com\/webofsciencegroup\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2020\/03\/wosg-woscc-qrg-final-dec2019.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">quick start guide<\/a>\u00a0to navigate the resource along with a number of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/videos.webofsciencegroup.com\/watch\/afBHaqc5nSvmioKWXcnooy\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">video tutorials\u00a0<\/a>to help you get started.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/library\/your-digital-library\/digital-resources-directory\/389\/wildlife-and-ecology-studies\"><strong>Wildlife and Ecology Studies Worldwide\u00a0<\/strong><\/a>\u2013 access to over 2.5 million records, dating back to 1982<\/p>\n<h5 class=\"text__title\">Help for using this e-resource<\/h5>\n<p>Wildlife and Ecology is accessed through EBSCO, who provide a number of tutorials on how to use their database. You might want to use databases from other subject areas if you research is inter-disciplinary.
