We are working to make our venue more sustainable, but we need YOUR help! We can all reduce our impact on the environment by making choices. As a visitor you have a very important role to play in helping us to conserve our natural assets and become a more sustainable venue.<\/p>\n
1. Explore the campus and discover our fantastic Community Oasis Garden<\/a> by following our Sustainable Development Goals trail<\/a>.<\/p>\n 2. Separate your waste<\/a>. We operate general waste, food waste, and mixed recycling facilities in all our buildings and accommodation.<\/p>\n 3. Switch it off. Please switch off electrical items when your room is unoccupied and keep windows closed if radiators are on. If your radiator is fitted with a control valve, this can be adjusted. We suggest a mid-setting of 3 is a good compromise between being warm and reducing energy use.<\/p>\n 4. Leave the car at home and travel by public transport<\/a> instead. The campus is ideally located within easy reach of the bus and railway stations. The city centre is also only a short 25 minute walk away and you can enjoy spectacular views over Canterbury Cathedral<\/a>.<\/p>\n 5. Think before you pick up freebies \u2013 only take items that you need and will use. Return unused conference materials to the local organiser to reuse or recycle.<\/p>\n 6. Discover local businesses and produce, they give you a flavour of the area and help support local communities. We are fortunate to have some fantastic producers of food, drink and independent businesses in Canterbury<\/a>.
