It is down to the researcher to set the parameters for the search based on relevance to the area of research. This type of review does not need to exhaustive but you should be able to describes your search process in the write up.<\/p>\n<p>A\u00a0<strong>systematic review<\/strong>, however, is a comprehensive literature review conducted to answer a specific research question. Authors of a systematic review aim to find, code, appraise, and synthesize all of the previous research on their question in an unbiased and well-documented manner.\u00a0 To do this they will follow a strict set of steps to ensure a \u2018systematic \u2018 process.<\/p>\n<p>There are a number of bodies that have guidelines for example,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.prisma-statement.org\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener\"><u>PRISMA<\/u><\/a>\u00a0has a minimum set of items for reporting in systematic reviews and meta-analyses.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Meta-analysis\u00a0<\/strong>is the statistical combination of results from two or more studies. It allows researchers to combine the data from studies with similar data types and analyze them as a single, expanded dataset. Meta-analyses are a type of systematic review.<\/p>\n<h4>Helpful resources:<\/h4>\n<p>To help with conducting systematic reviews look at\u00a0<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/chain.kent.ac.uk\/login?url=https:\/\/training.cochrane.org\/interactivelearning\/purchase\">Cochrane\u2019s Interactive Learning<\/a>.<\/strong>\u00a0It is a modular programme that provides detailed instruction on the best practice in conducting and reporting systematic reviews including\u00a0<strong>data extraction<\/strong>. Note that the first time you use the resource you will need to register using your Kent email \u2013 you will then be sent a confirmation email link to activate your account.<\/p>\n<p>This<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.imperial.ac.uk\/media\/imperial-college\/administration-and-support-services\/library\/public\/Systematic-Review-Flowchart.pdf\">\u00a0Systematic Review Flowchart\u00a0<\/a><\/strong>produced by Imperial College Library Services Provides a useful step-by-step guide to the entire process and activites you need to consider along the way.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a title=\"Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews (CDSR) link opens in a new window\" href=\"http:\/\/www.cochranelibrary.com\/cochrane-database-of-systematic-reviews\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews (CDSR)<\/a><\/strong><br \/>\nCDSR is part of the Cochrane Library. It contains Cochrane Reviews which are peer-reviewed systematic reviews that have been prepared and supervised by a Cochrane Review Group according to the principles laid out in the Cochrane Handbook of Systematic Reviews of Interventions.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a title=\"International prospective register of systematic reviews (PROSPERO) link opens in a new window\" href=\"http:\/\/www.crd.york.ac.uk\/PROSPERO\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">International prospective register of systematic reviews (PROSPERO)<\/a><\/strong><br \/>\nPROSPERO is produced by the CRD (Centre for Reviews and Dissemination \u2013 University of York).
