{"id":45,"date":"2022-09-07T14:55:44","date_gmt":"2022-09-07T13:55:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/computing-library-guide\/?page_id=45"},"modified":"2024-07-26T14:48:51","modified_gmt":"2024-07-26T13:48:51","slug":"finding-journal-articles","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/computing-library-guide\/finding-journal-articles\/","title":{"rendered":"Finding journal articles"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>For some assignments or a dissertation, you will need to go beyond your reading list and do your own independent research.<\/p>\n<h4>Journal articles<\/h4>\n<p>The easiest way to find journal articles is to type a few keywords for your topic in\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/librarysearch.kent.ac.uk\/\">LibrarySearch.\u00a0<\/a>If we subscribe to it in print or digital format a link will be provided to help you find it.<\/p>\n<p>If you are using Google Scholar or searching elsewhere on the web then we have a tool called <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/isnews\/libkey-nomad\/\">LibKey Nomad <\/a>you can download to connect you to the full text of a journal article in one click.<\/p>\n<p>The Library also subscribes to a number of\u00a0 databases\u00a0 that will help you to find\u00a0 journal articles and more on your chosen topic.<\/p>\n<h4>General indexes:<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/chain.kent.ac.uk\/login?url=http:\/\/apps.webofknowledge.com\/WOS_GeneralSearch_input.do?highlighted_tab=WOS&amp;product=WOS&amp;search_mode=GeneralSearch\">Web of Science\u00a0<\/a>\u2013 large database providing full text and abstracts (article summaries) for peer-reviewed literature.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/chain.kent.ac.uk\/login?url=https:\/\/www.scopus.com\">Scopus\u00a0<\/a>\u2013 multi-disciplinary database providing full text and abstracts (article summaries) for peer-reviewed literature.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/scholar.google.co.uk\/\">GoogleScholar<\/a>\u00a0 \u2013 is a popular search engine to look for academic material including journal articles and books.
