Composer and Senior Lecturer Dr Aki Pasoulas has been commissioned by the researchers of the Chilean project, SoundLapse, to create a new soundscape piece based exclusively on material recorded in the wetlands of Chile. The project explores natural habitats by means of field recordings and an innovative sonic time-lapse montage method, designed and implemented in collaboration with artists, biologists and computer scientists.
The composition Aki will create explores ambisonic techniques, and will be released in late 2021 by the German record label Gruenrekorder.
