{"id":2068,"date":"2022-05-12T09:08:58","date_gmt":"2022-05-12T08:08:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/chss-news\/?p=2068"},"modified":"2022-05-12T11:07:34","modified_gmt":"2022-05-12T10:07:34","slug":"chss-celebrates-results-of-first-research-excellence-framework-submission","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/chss-news\/2022\/05\/12\/chss-celebrates-results-of-first-research-excellence-framework-submission\/","title":{"rendered":"CHSS celebrates results of first REF submission"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Centre for Health Services Studies (CHSS) has performed strongly in its first submission to the Research Excellence Framework (REF), with 100% of impact and over 60% of outputs evaluated as \u2018world-leading\u2019 or \u2018internationally excellent\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>The Centre\u2019s scores are based on results in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.timeshighereducation.com\/news\/ref-2021-public-health-health-services-and-primary-care\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Public Health, Health Services and Primary Care Unit of Assessment<\/a> announced today by the REF.\u00a0 The REF is the UK\u2019s system for assessing the excellence of research in UK higher education providers. This is the first time the Centre has submitted to the REF following substantial growth between 2014 and 2021.<\/p>\n<p>Professor Stephen Peckham, Director of CHSS, said \u201cI\u2019m delighted that CHSS\u2019s commitment to methodologically rigorous, multi-disciplinary and impactful research has been recognised by these results. Our first REF submission is the result of the commitment and achievements of everyone associated with CHSS, including our research and professional services staff, our regional, national and international partners, and members of the public who offer their insight and experience to help us enhance our research.
