{"id":1648,"date":"2018-06-18T10:36:44","date_gmt":"2018-06-18T09:36:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/chss-news\/?p=1648"},"modified":"2018-06-18T10:36:44","modified_gmt":"2018-06-18T09:36:44","slug":"professor-sally-kendall-awarded-mbe-in-queens-birthday-honours-list","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/chss-news\/2018\/06\/18\/professor-sally-kendall-awarded-mbe-in-queens-birthday-honours-list\/","title":{"rendered":"Professor Sally Kendall awarded MBE in Queen\u2019s Birthday Honours List"},"content":{"rendered":"<header>\n<div class=\"content-header content-header-with-social\">\n<nav class=\"content-social content-social-head content-social-share social-likes social-likes_visible\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/chss\/staff\/research\/kendall.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CHSS Professor of Community Nursing and Public Health Sally Kendall<\/a>\u00a0has been awarded an MBE in recognition of 30 years of research in nursing and health visiting.\u00a0 Sally is known particularly for her contribution to practice-based research in the area of parenting and maternal and child health<strong>.\u00a0<\/strong>Her work on parenting is\u00a0internationally recognised and implemented from Kent to Japan.She is currently leading the national <a href=\"https:\/\/www-test.kent.ac.uk\/chss\/research\/docs\/current\/2018_02_19_bbf.html\">Becoming Breastfeeding Friendly<\/a> study to promote global breast-feeding in collaboration with Yale School of Public Health.<\/nav>\n<\/div>\n<\/header>\n<section class=\"content-body\">\n<div class=\"content-container\">\n<div class=\"content-main\">\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-18348 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/static.kent.ac.uk\/media\/news\/2018\/06\/Professor-Sally-Kendall-300x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"300\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Sally is also Adjunct Professor at Murdoch University in Western Australia where\u00a0she contributes to research on Aboriginal Health in families and communities.
