Leah has won title of Creative Champion of the Year at the <a href=\"http:\/\/kentcreativearts.co.uk\/kent-creative-awards\/the-winners\/\">Kent Creative Awards<\/a> for her work on Dementia.<br \/>\nIn 2015, Leah undertook a ten month residency at CHSS supported by a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.leverhulme.ac.uk\/funding\/AIR\/AIR.cfm\">Leverhulme Trust Artist in Residence Award <\/a>. Leah worked with CHSS Professor of Primary Care <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/chss\/staff\/research\/wilson.html\">Patricia Wilson<\/a> and in collaboration with Carrie Jackson at the England Centre for Practice Development, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.canterbury.ac.uk\/\">Canterbury Christ Church University<\/a>.<br \/>\nLeah is a feminist and poet.\u00a0 The residency supported her in completing a film about Dementia, a subject where she has a special interest. As a feminist she is also very interested in the journeys women make through the various transitions and stages of life.<br \/>\nLeah\u2019s residency with us stimulated debate and made us question many of our assumptions.\u00a0 In particular Professor Wilson hopes that Leah\u2019s work will encourage researchers and practitioners to view challenges in a different way and to come up with new solutions.<br \/>\nUpon receiving her award, Leah said \u201cIt was an honour to be nominated for the Award and winning it is a great recognition of the power of creativity as a tool for change.
