{"id":866,"date":"2024-02-15T17:03:09","date_gmt":"2024-02-15T17:03:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/chda\/?p=866"},"modified":"2024-02-16T09:00:50","modified_gmt":"2024-02-16T09:00:50","slug":"apprenticeship-awards-2024","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/chda\/2024\/02\/15\/apprenticeship-awards-2024\/","title":{"rendered":"Apprenticeship Awards 2024"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"lead\">Our annual apprenticeship awards were a chance to shine a light on just some of the outstanding achievements by apprentices, employers and educators involved in apprenticeship training with the University of Kent. <\/p>\n<p>On Wednesday 7<sup>h<\/sup> February 2024, apprentices, employers and educators gathered together for the second University of Kent Apprenticeship Awards ceremony to take place in person. As part of our National Apprenticeship Week celebrations, apprentices and key stakeholders joined us from across the country to take part in our round table discussion, networking lunch and celebrate the achievements of apprentices and employers across the University\u2019s 12 apprenticeship standards .<\/p>\n<p>Dr Anthony Manning, Director and Dean for Global and Lifelong Learning hosted the event alongside Alan Bikowski, Senior Business Development and Marketing Officer and Betty Johnson, Business Development Manager, at the University of Kent\u2019s Canterbury campus.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-868\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/chda\/files\/2024\/02\/Ceremony-2edit.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"602\" height=\"406\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Our Employer of the Year Awards went to the <strong>BBC<\/strong> and <strong>Syneos Health<\/strong>. BBC were nominated by students for their commitment to ongoing support and the extended learning opportunities they provide to apprentices on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/global-lifelong-learning\/apprenticeships\/employing-an-apprentice\/level-7-senior-journalist\">Level 7 Senior Journalist Apprenticeship<\/a>. Syneos Health also had many nominations from apprentices and academic colleagues. Organisation have apprentices on our various Science Apprenticeship Programmes and have provided support and guidance to the University in shaping the delivery to provide apprentices with best possible experience during their journey.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-867\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/chda\/files\/2024\/02\/Ceremony-1edit.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"610\" height=\"401\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Across the awards we heard some fantastic stories and achievements. From apprentices who have introduced new techniques and cost-saving solutions to those who have gone above and beyond to take on new roles and achieve personal and professional goals. The awards were voted for by apprenticeship employers, apprentices and academic staff from the University. Each Apprenticeship Standard had a winner and the full list of winners can be viewed below.<\/p>\n<p>Dr Anthony Manning said of the awards, <span class=\"ui-provider iu b c d e f g h i j k l m n o p q r s t u v w x y z ab ac ae af ag ah ai aj ak\" dir=\"ltr\">\u201cIt has been wonderful to bring so many of our learners and employers together to celebrate the achievements of the past year and to share our passion for apprenticeships and lifelong learning. We believe in the power of apprenticeships to help grow organisations and provide incredibly valuable experiences to employers&#8217; workforce as they begin or progress through their career.
