Celebrating National Apprenticeship Week 2025

National Apprenticeship Week is always a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the achievements of apprentices, highlighting the values they bring to businesses and showcasing the commitment of employers and education in developing future talent.

At the University of Kent, we are proud to take part in this important week by hosting and attending a range of events designed to support, inspire, and connect apprentices and employers.

A week’s worth of activities

Throughout the week, we organised and attended various events aimed at raising awareness about apprenticeships. Some of these events included:

  • Degree Apprenticeships information Sessions: We ran several drop-in sessions for prospective employers and apprentices.
  • School Visits: Our team visited local schools to talk to students about apprenticeship opportunities at the University.
  • 18+ Care Leavers Event: We supported Kent County Council in spreading apprenticeship awareness to care leavers.
  • Apprenticeship Awards Ceremony: We hosted our annual Apprenticeship Awards events to celebrate talented apprentices and dedicated employers.
  • Leicester University Panel: We concluded the week by speaking on a University panel. Academics, employers and University staff came together to discuss the benefit of completing academic and lab-based apprenticeships.

Looking ahead

National Apprenticeship Week is just part of one of our ongoing commitments to apprenticeships. We are delighted to be expanding our programmes including the new Biomedical Scientist and Digital Technology Solutions apprenticeships. We cannot wait to support more individuals and employers on their apprenticeship journey.
