This June Dr Parminder Sandhu, lecturer in applied chemical sciences, Centre for Higher and Degree Apprenticeships, will be presenting to colleagues from across the international higher education community at the European First Year Experience Conference. Dr Sandhu’s presentation will consider ways to improve student performance and enhance first year experience.
European First Year Experience 2018, will be taking place 25-27 June in Utrecht, the Netherlands. The event will be hosted by University of Applied Sciences Utrecht and Utrecht University. The conference will be attended by 250-300 participants, from 16 different countries, across Europe and beyond. The event has been running since 2006 and represents collaboration between a wide range of universities keen to improve the experience of students as they enter higher education.
In particular, Dr Sandhu will be focusing on the impact of forum e-activities and enhanced coursework feedback. The presentation will be based on research conducted within the Centre for Higher and Degree Apprenticeships, aimed at identifying ways to optimise learning and experience for our students.
