Kimberley Bree is as an Associate Project Manager at the University of Kent. She is enrolled on the Chartered Manager Degree Apprenticeship. Read about her experience of working alongside her apprenticeship below:
“The Apprenticeship scheme provides great learning and development opportunities. I was looking for additional professional qualifications that would help me further my career and was struggling to find something that was different to those qualifications I had already achieved.
When I learned about the Apprenticeship Levy and the Higher Degree Apprenticeships I was shocked to find that I could apply. I am now in my early 30’s undertaking a second degree (BSc in Business Management) and also developing my professional portfolio to achieve my Chartered Manager status with CMI.
Whilst it is hard work to complete this alongside my day job, I get study time and support to take me through the 4 year course. I am now in my second year and have not looked back – the course has been challenging but interesting and I have developed useful skills and knowledge to support my day job.
The best part is that I have not had to pay for this professional qualification and second degree – the Apprenticeship Levy covers it. I would recommend that anyone interested in developing their career takes a look at the Higher Degree Apprenticeship opportunities – Apprenticeships are not just for school leavers as I once thought!”
