Three money-saving tips for apprentices

  1. Apprentice discount card by NUS

NUS Apprentice Extra provides discounts in-store and online at various brands, at the cost of £11 for 12 months.

  1. ‘Student’ bank accounts for Apprentices

Recently HSBC became the first bank to offer its student account to higher and degree level apprentices. This means that apprentices are now able to receive equivalent benefits as undergraduates would with a student bank account.

Current benefits that come with HSBC’s Student bank account for Apprentices includes the following:

  1. Council Tax exemption or reduction

 As an apprentice you could be eligible for Council Tax Exemption. Council Tax applies to properties but there are some exemptions depending on who lives there. Whilst not all apprentices will be eligible it’s worth checking if you meet the criteria to save money on your bills.
