After a busy few weeks of apprentice sign-ups we would like to officially welcome all of our new apprentices and wish them the very best of luck with their apprenticeship training.
At the start of each apprenticeship we make a visit to learners at their place of work, so this September we’ve travelled from Ulverston to Sandwich to meet all our learners – along with managers and mentors – and make sure that they’re prepared to embark on their apprenticeship journey.
In total over 90 new apprentices started with us in September and four of them are pictured below, Paige, Dan, Matt and Shaan who are embarking on Applied Bioscience and Applied Chemical Science courses, which will lead to the award of an FdSc. They’ve got plenty of support from the managers, supervisors and mentors at AstraZeneca, who are also pictured.
Starting off as an apprentice means taking on a role with an employer – either an apprenticeship role with a current employer or starting a job with a new organisation – and also becoming a student with the University of Kent at the same time. That means that there’s lots of information to cover at apprentice sign ups, but with a workplace mentor and University of Kent staff on hand to help, learners have lots of support in place.
University of Kent start at multiple points throughout the year, so the start date for our next group of apprentices is just around the corner and we are looking forward to welcoming them in January.
