{"id":305,"date":"2020-03-02T15:59:36","date_gmt":"2020-03-02T15:59:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/centreforjournalism\/?p=305"},"modified":"2020-03-03T07:55:35","modified_gmt":"2020-03-03T07:55:35","slug":"kent-students-apply-now-for-two-free-study-plus-courses-at-cfj","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/centreforjournalism\/2020\/03\/02\/kent-students-apply-now-for-two-free-study-plus-courses-at-cfj\/","title":{"rendered":"Kent students: Apply now for free Study Plus courses at CfJ"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"lead\">Current Kent students can apply now for a free Study Plus course in TV Production or Journalism at the Centre for Journalism.<\/p>\n<p>The course in <strong>TV Production<\/strong> (which runs from Monday 4 May \u2013 Friday 7 May) includes a unique opportunity to learn the fundamental skills required to produce a 30-minute programme that will be broadcast to thousands of people both online and on TV.<\/p>\n<p>The course in<strong> Journalism<\/strong> (which runs from Monday 8 June \u2013 Friday 12 June) offers an intensive immersion in the basic principles and practices of professional journalism in the multimedia age.<\/p>\n<p>You will be taught at Kent\u2019s Medway campus where you can take advantage of the Centre\u2019s state-of-the-art resources. These include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>three newsrooms equipped with equipped with Apple Mac workstations running industry-standard software<\/li>\n<li>wire feeds from the Press Association, and satellite feeds from Reuters World News<\/li>\n<li>two radio studios equipped with ISDN lines, full mixing desks, playout facilities and telephone balancing units<\/li>\n<li>a TV teaching studio which allows students to run all aspects of a television news production: vision mixing, autocue, sound and playout<\/li>\n<li>the television studios where KMTV (Kent&#8217;s only dedicated television channel) broadcasts to 250,000 households and streams live at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kmtv.co.uk\">kmtv.co.uk<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Study Plus courses are non-credit bearing.
