For the second year running, the Centre for Journalism has picked up three nominations in the National Council for the Training of Journalists Awards for Excellence.
Isabel Eidhamar’s third-year project ‘On the Border of War and Peace‘, looking at the crisis in peacekeeping on the island of Cyprus, is shortisted in the Student Project category – which has been won two years in a row by University of Kent students.
Oliver Kemp, who graduated in 2019 from our MA in Multimedia Journalism, is shortlisted in the Community News Project category for his work for Kent Online as part of the Facebook-funded project.
And lecturer Laura Garcia is shortlisted in the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion category, primarily for her work in launching PressPad, the social enterprise that aims to level the playing field for students looking for work placements in London.
Winners will be revealed at the NCTJ’s skills conference on 28 November in Sunderland.
