Callie Che worked as Employability Points (EP) Ambassador in the Careers and Employability Service (CES) while studying for a BSc in Marketing,
“My role involved promoting EP with students and creating as much engagement as possible. I created content for social media to promote the sponsors and the rewards that students could claim. I really enjoyed my experience as part of the EP team and I feel it gave a great insight into corporate work. This was a great stepping stone from my prior hospitality roles and life as a student, and I was able to develop new skills in social media and public speaking.”
Upon graduation, Callie joined Sleeping Giant Media as a GIANT Trainee in 2021,
I heard about the company while I was studying at the University of Kent. I have since moved through a variety of roles and I am currently a Paid Manager. Additionally, I work as a rock climbing instructor at my local climbing wall, working with both children and adults. In 2023, I was a runner up for the ‘Young Digital Woman of the Year’ award, hosted by Digital Women.
Callie’s advice for current students is
…get involved with the Careers and Employability Service, and make the most of the knowledge that the team has to offer! The team was brilliant to work with and provided support wherever necessary. I took advantage of CV checks and mock interviews and these really helped with my applications and my confidence in interviews.
