Jaedyn Herdman-Grant Graduated from The University of Kent in 2022 and has secured a role as a content creator apprentice for MCM

Jaedyn was connected with the SafetyNet+ Scheme by the Careers and Employability Service.

Original Status: Jaedyn had submitted applications and got through to the next recruitment stage on
at least one occasion when she joined our career coaching support. Jaedyn however was not
confident at all and struggled with interviews.

Support Provided: Jaedyn’s coach worked closely with her to prepare for upcoming interviews,
providing interview guidance and reviewing interview preparation. Jaedyn had got to the final stage
of recruitment for a number of roles, one in her words for a “fantastic” company learning Marketing
and Content creation, her ideal role which she received an offer for.

What Jaedyn Found Most Valuable: “Leaving university is incredibly daunting. You feel like you have
been thrown into the deep end with no life jacket. However, this opportunity provided ample
support during my job hunt and was highly valuable”.

How the Support Helped Jaedyn with her Confidence: Jaedyn shared that she now feels very
confident, “I used to struggle at interviews: I would stutter, become out of breath and trip over my
words. I now breeze through them with no problem”.
