“It made my life so much easier and made me value my University much more in that they still care about me”

Aarish Hyder graduated from The University of Kent in 2021 with a degree in Law and Accounting and Finance. Aarish is currently working as a High Court and Debt Recovery Tribunal Advocate.

Aarish was connected with the SafetyNet+ scheme by The Careers and Employability Service.

Original Status: Aarish sought coaching support to help him understand how to make progress towards his dream graduate role.

Support Provided: Aarish’s coach provided a detailed CV review and helped him to identify and demonstrate his transferable skills which he had not fully recognised. She also provided cover letter and application support as well as encouraging him to network and find more suitable opportunities to build experience.

What Aarish Found Most Valuable: “The Regular checking by Jane around my career status and her knowledge of the graduate legal identity meant I could run my ideas through her to make the feasible.”

How the Support helped with Aarish’s Confidence: “Jane helped me understand what is out there so I can redeem all the opportunities that come my way (and knowing where to find them.)”

What Aarish said about the support: “From Gradcore, I had someone to myself that wanted me to get through the tough and demoralising process of applying for jobs and moving between companies. It made my life so much easier and made me value my University much more in that they still care about me”
