Noah Garriock graduated from The University of Kent in 2022 and has secured a role on the Civil Service Fast Stream Commercial Graduate Programme
Noah was connected with the SafetyNet+ Scheme by the Careers and Employability Service.
Original Status: When joining our career coaching support, Noah was not currently working or
studying but had identified an ambition to join a graduate scheme as his next step. Noah reported
that he was not confident at all when submitting applications.
Support Provided: Noah received support from his coach throughout each stage of the graduate
scheme recruitment process. From an initial CV review to a mock interview, to preparation for an
assessment centre all to help ensure confidence and progress through a competitive, lengthy
recruitment.
What Noah Found Most Valuable: Noah told us that he valued the opportunity to share his
thoughts and receive specific advice from his coach who had “great experience in the professional
sector and on applying for jobs”. Moreover, Noah also felt “valued” having received this support
post-graduation.
How the Support Helped Noah with his Confidence: The coaching Noah received significantly
improved his confidence throughout the civil service application and recruitment process. Noah also
shared that his confidence in general has grown in applying for roles.
What Noah Said About the Support: Noah shared that he recognised the value of the guidance he
was receiving from his coach, and felt he needed to take advantage of the support to secure his
place on a graduate scheme.
