“Now feel better equipped to go into the working world”

Ella Wilson Graduated from The University of Kent in 2022 and has secured a role as a Marketing and Communications Executive

Ella was connected with the SafetyNet+ Scheme by the Careers and Employability Service.

Original Status: When Ella joined our career coaching programme she was not currently working or
studying and had begun to submit applications but was only somewhat confident in her search.

Support Provided: Ella worked with her coach to understand more about the recruitment process
and general graduate employability. She was provided with resources to compliment her learning of
recruitment and employability, as well as preparing for the working world.

What Ella Found Most Valuable: Ella said that her coach’s breadth of knowledge was the most
valuable part of the support received and that her coach “came up with creative solutions to my
problems and was able to provide me with resources I had never even heard of”.

How the Support Helped Ella with her Confidence: Because of the support provided, Ella said she
felt confident in approaching the job market and its processes – she thought that her coaches
approach to this support boosted her confidence massively, in that she never felt judged.

What Ella Said About the Support: “My coach was never judgemental towards me – my mental
health has made applying for things very difficult, but she helped me to work around it, and I now
feel better equipped to go into the working world”
