“Help was also provided through reviewing my applications, and helping with interviews”

A recent Sociology with a Year in Data Analytics graduate reflects on their experience with the Careers and Employability Service at The University of Kent

Helped in deciding what to do next after university at first as I was unsure about that step. Additionally discussing  the issues that occurred, and also proving help  by sending useful websites etc. allowing me to make an informed decision.  Help was also provided through reviewing my applications, and helping with interviews. But also regarding motivation, at the beginning of the profess I lacked motivation, with the mindset of “who would like to employ me as I have no skills” , interactions with the supervisor (Natalie). I became a bit more confident  to apply, also knowing the fact that doing a teaching assistant position will help me decide if I  want to teach full time, and if not there are other pathways to success, such as doing masters or going into a different profession.
