Welcome to the Campus2Campus Challenge 2014 Blog!

This blog will form the platform for challenge developments, including our training for the event, the progress of our fundraising and our progress on our 8 day, 8 marathon, epic finale challenge!

For those of you who are unfamiliar with our challenge, we are a 14 member team from the University of Kent Athletics & Cross Country Club. Following a successful challenge last year, we have decided to up the ante and run from the University of Kent’s Canterbury campus to the its Paris Centre.

We will be running up to 30 miles a day for 8 consecutive days with the aim of fundraising over £10,000 for local charity Pilgrims Hospices. Staying in tents and living out of a minibus, the challenge will push our team to their limits. We are, however, firm believers that your support must be earned and we hope our commitment to such a tough challenge will convince you to support our challenge aims.

We have already raised around £3,000 through local fundraising, charity events and through our generous local supporters. We want to use this first post to introduce you to the ways you can connect with us over the coming weeks.

We have an active Twitter account which will continue to chart our progress and introduce you to our team and how they cope with the challenge. Follow us here: https://twitter.com/campus2campus14

We have a website hosted by the University of Kent 50th anniversary team with photo updates and team bios. Read more!

Finally, we are fundraising through our JustGiving page at: http://www.justgiving.com/campus2campus

Please donate generously. It is your generosity that will ultimately help us meet our pledge to help local palliative care provider Pilgrims Hospices continuing with their amazing work.

We must finish our first post by extending our gratitude to the University of Kent 50th Anniversary Student Fund and Kent Opportunity Fund, without whom, we would simply not have been able to complete such a large challenge.

We hope you continue to follow our progress and support us in our epic challenge.
