Within the conference<\/a> \u201cBeyond the Future of Work: New Paradigms for Addressing Global Inequality\u201d, The Bernard and Audre Rapoport Center for Human Rights and Justice<\/a>, The University of Texas at Austin, School of Law (24 May \u2013 11 June, 2021)<\/p>\n University of Kent scholar Dr Albena Azmanova<\/a> and the eminent US economist James Galbraith<\/a> will debate strategies for post-COVID social transformation, focusing on the work-related contradictions of capitalism, Azmanova identifies in her new book Capitalism on Edge<\/em>.<\/p>\n She has argued that while the new economy does not generate good jobs for all, we are increasingly reliant on holding a job, but she rejects the two popular strategies for solving this conundrum: active job creation and universal basic income.
