For those familiar with this literature, Abdo&#8217;s thesis contributes significantly to existing models, notably by adopting a dynamic approach of wartime orders or considering the endogeneity of rebel mobilisation.<\/div>\n<div data-ogsc=\"rgb(0, 0, 0)\"><\/div>\n<div data-ogsc=\"rgb(0, 0, 0)\">Abdullah&#8217;s thesis was supervised by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/brussels\/people\/2614\/guichaoua-yvan\">Dr Yvan Guichaoua<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/brussels\/people\/2609\/m%C3%A4lksoo-maria\">Dr Maria M\u00e4lksoo<\/a>.<\/div>\n<div data-ogsc=\"rgb(0, 0, 0)\"><\/div>\n<div data-ogsc=\"rgb(0, 0, 0)\">The PhD was examined by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/politics-international-relations\/people\/2275\/toros-harmonie\">Dr Harmonie Toros<\/a> and Professor <a title=\"https:\/\/www.smith.edu\/academics\/faculty\/steven-heydemann\" href=\"https:\/\/www.smith.edu\/academics\/faculty\/steven-heydemann\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-auth=\"NotApplicable\" data-ogsc=\"\">Steven Heydemann<\/a>.<\/div>\n<div data-ogsc=\"rgb(0, 0, 0)\"><\/div>\n<div data-ogsc=\"rgb(0, 0, 0)\">Congratulations, Abdo!<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We are delighted to announce that PhD student Abdullah Al-Jabassini passed his viva (virtually!) without corrections.
