{"id":3000,"date":"2017-10-12T11:50:18","date_gmt":"2017-10-12T10:50:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/brussels-news-events\/?p=3000"},"modified":"2017-10-12T11:50:18","modified_gmt":"2017-10-12T10:50:18","slug":"international-conference-call-for-organisers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/brussels-news-events\/2017\/10\/12\/international-conference-call-for-organisers\/","title":{"rendered":"International Conference &#8211; Call for Organisers!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-family: 'Calibri',sans-serif;color: black\">Calling all potential Conference organisers!<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"background: white\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Calibri',sans-serif;color: black\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-family: 'Calibri',sans-serif;color: black\">As you know, each year\u00a0students organise the Student Conference at the end of the January term, followed by the student-organised International Dinner (this year on April 7).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"background: white\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Calibri',sans-serif;color: black\">So you have an idea of what the general framework of\u00a0past conferences have looked like, the\u00a0programme for the 2017 conference is here:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/brussels\/conference\/\">https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/brussels\/conference\/<\/a> and a report on the 2016 conference here:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/staff-student-news\/2016\/04\/27\/brussels-school-of-international-studies-hosts-annual-international-conference\/\">https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/staff-student-news\/2016\/04\/27\/brussels-school-of-international-studies-hosts-annual-international-conference\/<\/a> .<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"background: white\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Calibri',sans-serif;color: black\">Time passes more quickly than one thinks, and even though the September term is still young, it is\u00a0time to start the planning process.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"background: white\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Calibri',sans-serif;color: black\">In order to gauge the number of potential proposals and interest, if\u00a0you have a concept for the Student Conference, please:<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"background: white\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Calibri',sans-serif;color: black\">1) Write a 1-2 paragraph description of the broad proposed\u00a0topic of the conference;<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"background: white\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Calibri',sans-serif;color: black\">2) give an idea of how you would plan to organise the day;<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"background: white\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Calibri',sans-serif;color: black\">3) give an idea of potential speakers;<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"background: white\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Calibri',sans-serif;color: black\">4) note any experience you have in conference organization.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"background: white\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Calibri',sans-serif;color: black\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-family: 'Calibri',sans-serif;color: black\">Please send\u00a0these responses\/ text blocks\u00a0by email by <strong>October 15<\/strong> to <a href=\"mailto:bsis@kent.ac.uk\">bsis@kent.ac.uk<\/a> .\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"background: white\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Calibri',sans-serif;color: black\">After this date, we will discuss with all of those who have expressed interest and work with you to\u00a0identify core organisers and the Conference Committee.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"background: white\">\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Calling all potential Conference organisers!
