In her chapter on Islamic finance in Italy, Ms Iannazzone analysed the developments and prospects for the accommodation of Shariah-compliant financial instruments in the regulatory, socio-economic and cultural framework of the European Union, particularly Italy. Specifically, she investigated Islamic finance as an ethical banking and financial system that could resonate well with various types of ‘socially responsible’ investors and savers.

At present, she is a consultant in inter-governmental affairs at EU level, in Interel, Brussels, and she works as policy analyst and advocacy officer on food and health projects.
