Results of Board of Examiners

Dear All

The Board of Examiners, which was attended by our External Examiners and programme convenors, met today to consider those students who have completed their programme of study.  This email only concerns those students who have submitted a final dissertation and have completed their programme. Please read this email carefully.

Early next week we will write to the Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences asking him to ratify the results of the Board and then this signed authority will be sent to the Congregations Office for formal processing.  Successful candidates will be contacted directly by the Congregations Office at their address found within the Student Data System to determine whether they wish to attend the award ceremony or not.  Please make sure that you have checked that your name and address is correct in the Student Data System.

Transcripts
Once the formal authority of the Dean is signed and lodged with the Congregations Office, a digital transcript will be made available to you through My Transcript on the Student Data system; this will be available to you at the end of next week.   At the congregation ceremony you will receive your degree certificate together with a hallmarked transcript.  Those unable to attend will receive their certificate in the post at the address held in the Student Data System but only after the congregation has taken place.

Graduation
The next Graduation ceremony will be on Friday 18 November 2014 in Canterbury Cathedral at 7.30pm.  Details regarding graduation, gown hire, timings, tickets etc can be found by going to the website at http://www.kent.ac.uk/congregations/  and all related enquires should be addressed to congregations@kent.ac.uk.  Students attending the ceremony are allowed a maximum of 2 guest tickets.  This is because the design of the cathedral only allows that number of people to have a guaranteed, good and unimpeded view of the event.  Additional tickets may be purchased through the Congregations Office but the seating will not be with the other two guests.  Otherwise you might wish to collaborate with a friend who has less than 2 guests attending.  Details about tickets can be found on the Congregations website.

We plan to hold a lunch for all of those graduating and their families on Friday 18 November 2014 at around 14h in The Cricketers pub in Canterbury.  Notification of the event will be emailed to you nearer the date and details will be on Facebook.
