This year’s International Conference will deal with different challenges our societies are facing today leading to multiple changes and transitions in our world. This has an impact on the very notion of human security, i.e. political, economic or social security of states and their citizens. While these challenges bear many risks and create uncertainty they might also be an opportunity for a transition into a better world. During the conference we want to discuss some of the many challenges as well as the changes, threats and opportunities they bring. Thereby, we are also interested in the EU’s role and its existing approaches to counter these challenges and changes.
We have invited experts from EU institutions, International Organizations, NGO’s and Think Tanks participating in panel discussions. Moreover, in topic-related workshops conference participants will have the opportunity to continue the discussions, challenge the opinions of experts in the field and engage each other in interactive debates.
