Kent Union Elections

Dear all,

As BSIS has its own dedicated Brussels Graduate Student Union, you may not be aware that we are still connected to Kent Union at the Canterbury campus. Kent Union is currently holding its leadership elections for the 2014/2015 academic year. Students can be elected to the following 5 full time positions: Kent Union President, Vice-President (Activities), Vice-President (Education), Vice-President (Sports), and Vice-President (Welfare). The elected officer also receives a salary around £18,000 for his/her term.
Many of you might feel that there is no point in voting as it is the BGSU that represents you here in Brussels. But if you do decide to vote, I encourage you to put some thought behind it. The BGSU wants to develop closer links with Kent Union and one way to do that is to get involved in the leadership elections and push Kent Union to recognize that campuses abroad are a big part of the University of Kent. Perhaps a BSIS student will consider running in the next leadership elections – the experience would look great on your CV!

You can view the candidates for each position and read their manifestos here: https://www.kentunion.co.uk/elections/candidates/594/

Voting begins TODAY and ends Thursday 13 March 2014 at 5pm.
