PhD candidate Thomas Chevalier has published an article about France’s recent commitment to abstain from anti-satellite missile tests in The Conversation. He argues that despite this historic decision, the French space strategy might be headed towards more ‘strategic ambiguity’ regarding operations in space and high altitudes.
The article (available here) is a slightly revised and updated version of the French one Thomas published in January, in The Conversation France.
Thomas’ analysis is part of his PhD empirical focus on the idea of ‘war in space’ in international politics and on the role of space technologies in defence policy-making.
