Dr Albena Azmanova will speak at the 31st Council of the European Greens the highest decision-making body of the party, on 10-13 June 2020 (online).
She will open the session on COVID-19 and social justice with a reflection on the gravity of economic and social insecurity as the key problem of our times and the importance of building a strong European Social Union.
The discussion will be joined by Luca Visentini (Secretary General of the European Trade Union Confederation), Ernest Urtasun (Green MEP), Terry Reintke (Green MEP) and Rutger Groot Wassink (Deputy Mayor of Amsterdam).
Dr Azmanova will draw on her book Capitalism on Edge. How Fighting Precarity Can Achieve Radical Change Without Crisis or Utopia (Columbia University Press, 2020).
