BSIS Open for business with Remote and Independent Learning

We are open for business – we never closed but shifted seamlessly to remote and independent learning on Friday, March 13 for the remainder of the taught term. Dissertation proposals were due on Friday March 13 and were submitted remotely (as they have been for several years now) and are being marked even now. Dissertation supervision will take place via Zoom or Microsoft Teams.

After making the shift to remote and independent learning, our thoughts are now turning to the academic analysis of covid-19 and how we can analyse its implications through the lens of all of the topics we study. The so-called “refugee crisis” in 2015 did not succeed in closing the intra-Schengen borders, but covid-19 did. What conclusions can we draw from that? We’ll be adjusting our module outlines for the fall to take covid-19 into account in each of our areas. Stay tuned for more on those fronts!
