Dr Albena Azmanova will be giving a keynote address titled “Populism and the Missing Crisis of Capitalism” at the Universitat de Barcelona’s XVI International Political Philosophy Conference Social Control: Action, Liberties and Citizenship.
Drawing on her new book Capitalism on Edge, Dr Azmanova will discuss the ways in which social protest and leftist political mobilisation are unwittingly replenishing the legitimation resources of capitalism — a phenomenon she calls ‘the emancipation paradox”.
