Dr Maria Mälksoo will give a talk on the invitation of the project Memory Laws in European and Comparative Perspective at the Asser Institute in the Hague on 8 February 2019. The theme of the research seminar is ‘Comparative Outlook on the Governance of Historical Memory in Transitional Contexts: South America and Eastern Europe’. Dr Mälksoo’s talk is titled ‘The Mnemonical Security Problem of Eastern Europe’. The seminar also features Dr Juan Pablo Scarfi (National University of San Martin, Buenos Aires), speaking on ‘Memory Politics and Legal Governance of Human Rights Violations and Reparations in South America’.
