Octavius Pinkard, a PhD Researcher at BSIS, was recently invited to speak at the University of Colorado. His public lecture focused on civil liberties in Lebanon, and he also gave a lecture for the Department of Political Science which addressed the securitisation of Muslim diaspora communities in Europe and the United States. Octavius’ research focuses on transformations in identity and interests among the Lebanese diaspora in the United States and Senegal, and he was recently a Visiting Scholar at the University of California-Berkeley.
