Should we stay or should we go?

The BSIS Graduate Student Union are to host a lively debate on the positives and negatives of the UK’s membership of the European Union, ahead of the referendum on 23 June. Join us as our panelists, representing the In and Out sides, debate the many issues surrounding the UK’s membership. Topics likely to be discussed include immigration, security, the economy, international relations, and education, with audience members encouraged to submit questions during the discussion.

The debate will be hosted by Professor Richard Sakwa, professor of Russian and European Politics at the University of Kent in Canterbury.

Panellists confirmed so far include:

Roger Helmer MEP (UKIP) – OUT

Martin Bailey (Pro Europa chair) – IN

More panelists to be announced shortly.

The event will take place at 7.30pm (doors open 7pm) and is open to students, staff and members of the public. The debate will end around 9pm and will be followed by a drinks reception.

We have a limited capacity and therefore space will be allocated on a first-come-first-serve basis.
